In a world where prefab, trend driven rock bands are the norm,The Next stand head and shoulders above all as the real deal- tough as nails and built to last.
Cut from the same leather as history making rock bands Led Zeppelin, Guns and Roses and Motley Crue,The NEXT have left a trail of exhausted, satisfied audiences in their wake. Delivering the goods at maximum impact and with an ever growing following, The NEXT have become THE must see live show.
How did the band and its name, ‘The Next’ come about?
Well we all met from playing in other bands and when we came together to jam it just felt right.. As for the name, well, we just liked the sound of it
How would you describe sound of ‘The Next’?
One of our fans once described it as “Guns n Roses bangin’ Aerosmith while Motley Crue jacked it in the corner” – so I guess you could say we sound like a rock band
What do you think sets your music apart from that of other bands?
I don’t wanna diss any other bands, but I think we’ve got a maturity to our songs but we don’t wanna get political on your ass, just sing about what really matters.. ‘rockin out and havin a good time’
What can one expect from your live show?
We really put a lot of effort into our shows to make sure that the audience is getting what they came for.. we work hard and we play hard, so hopefully that comes through at the show
What inspires or has influenced your music the most?
Everything influences, it’s what makes us all who we are. If you take all that you’ve learnt from life and put with it some music that gets your dick hard, it’s hard NOT to be inspired don’t ya think?
What do you think it takes to succeed in music these days?
These days I think it’s all about the song, it’s about how quickly you can get in and leave in impression before the listener moves on.. Which is kind of unfortunate because it’s usually the ‘album songs’ that have the most balls.
What to you will be "success" as far as The Next is concerned?
I don’t think it’s bad to want it all, so why would we settle for anything less
If you could travel back in time to any gig in history, which one would it be?
I’d probably go back to the California Jam in 74 to watch Richie Blackmore set his amp on fire and trash all his gear!
Do you have any interesting pre-gig rituals you would like to share?
Does downing half a bottle of JD count?
